NYC Booth Theatre Tracking

   I used the script to locate where the special effects I can adapt to surround the audience. For instance, the windows and walls can have shadows walking around making them feel like they are in the house. As well as breaking and creaking sounds around them.

Feeding Beatrice Script Breakdown

    I utilized the play breakdown I did to track when/why the actors and audience are moving and where. I wanted the play to flow as they move and adapt it into the play. I also noted how the spaces need to change thought the play.

Race 

  Due to the importance of race in the show, I had to research how Boston Massachusetts race changed through the years and how it impacted people. I wanted to tie the racial issues of the script to current events happening today.

Alfred Hitchcock 

    One of my inspirations was Alfred Hitchcock. I wanted to capture the same feeling of dread and horror with lighting and shadowplay.

Tim Burton

My other inspiration was Tim Burton. With his movies I got a feel of horror with the light and the stylistic choices.  

Booth Theatre

    Choosing a theater for the play was difficult, I eventually chose the Booth Theatre in NYC. It's older style wood, creates the feeling of a house which would help the audience feel like they're in one. Large windows were also a deciding factor. I wanted to utilize them to create shadow and light effects with the audience.
